The Order's connection to Jerusalem is nine centuries old. Today that connection takes the form of a sustained partnership with the St Louis French Hospital — a working hospital in the city providing palliative care and chronic-disease support to a diverse community of patients.
Recent work
Phase II infrastructure renewal is now complete, including a new palliative care provision, replacement of the principal generator, and installation of a new elevator. The work was coordinated with the hospital leadership and supported through the Order's hospitaller fund.
Why this place
Jerusalem is where the Order began. To remain present in the city — to fund the practical hospital infrastructure that allows local doctors and nurses to do their work — is to keep faith with the founding vow in its original geography.
